E-lins 4G LTE router speed: Max. 100Mbps downlink, 50Mbps uplink
E-lins’s latest network upgrade, ‘LTE Advanced’ (built by Sierra FDD and ZTE TDD),‘LTE Advance’ uses a technology called ‘carrier aggregation’ which allows mobile signals to be carried across different spectrum simultaneously. Currently, access to E-lins’s Advanced network, which will be rolled out commercially beyond Tech City early next year.
The new network we’re switching on in Tech City uses the spectrum that we acquired in the Ofcom spectrum auction earlier this year, and is the first part of an infrastructure that can meet the future demands of an increasingly data-hungry nation.

what’s openwrt?

What’s openwrt? in my mind, openwrt is running on the embedded device linux systems.
OpenWrt file system is writable, developers do not need to recompile after each modification,
Make it more like a mini Linux computer systems, but also accelerated the development speed.
You will find both the ARM, PowerPC, or MIPS processor, has a very good support.
And with around 3000 packages, users can easily customize the features to make the firmware.
Can be easily ported to various types of functions under openwrt.

How to protect your business’ wireless network

Category : 技术相关

Your business’ wireless network is  so important. To keep your wireless network secure, E-lins  have some security tips.follow me:

1.Immediately change the default password, beacause it is widely known.

2.Use only WPA2, which introduces a new AES-based encryption for better security over WPA.

3.Don’t use the default SSID

4.Forget MAC address filtering

5.Disallowing administrative access from the wireless network shout keep any successful hacker from wreaking further havoc by making changes to the configuration of your Wi-Fi router.

What’s HSPA+?

Category : 技术相关

HSPA+ is a network.HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus) is the name of the set of HSPA enhancements that are defined in 3GPP beyond Release 6 (R6). The enhanced downlink (HSDPA) was defined in R5 and the enhanced uplink (HSUPA) was defined in R6.
HSPA+ is an enhanced version of high-speed 3G wireless networks. Because it is so closely related to 3G and is not a new, built-from-the ground-up technology, HSPA+ has been called a 3.5G network instead of a true 4G network. But HSPA+ networks are capable of delivering 4G speeds, with download speeds between 5 megabits per second and 8 mbps.

This means that when you use an HSPA+ enabled device to access the internet, pages will load even quicker than normal on your phoneor computer – and you can expect faster downloads too.

Key Features of HSPA+:

It increases HSPA capacity as well as reduce latency below 50 milliseconds
It supports voice and data services on the same carrier and across all of the available radio spectrum and offers these services simultaneously to users
HSPA+ with 64 QAM and advanced antenna techniques such as 2X2 MIMO can deliver 42 Mbps theoretical capability and 11.5 Mbps on the uplink and could be ready for deployment in 2010
HSPA+ enhancements are backward-compatible with UMTS Release 99/Release 5/Release 6
HSPA+ could match, and possibly exceed, the potential performance capabilities of IEEE 802.16e-2005 (mobile WiMAX) in the same amount of spectrum, and could match LTE performance when using 5 MHz of spectrum.

Industrial Wireless:Beware of COTS

Category : 技术相关

Industrial Wireless:Beware of COTS, This is a tip of  Broken Signal Solutions.

Just because 802.11 is a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) standard doesn’t mean that COTS products can be used in the industrial environment, warns Advantech’s Lochhaas. Industrially hardened access points “will survive in the industrial environment when exposed to extremes of temperature, dust, humidity, hazardous vapors and other common situations,” he says. “So when selecting your industrial wireless products, be certain to determine their suitability for the service you wish to use them in.”

E-lins notes, “Industrial environments are harder on wireless than any office would ever be,” which can drastically shorten the useful lifespan of wireless equipment. You get what you pay for in this world, and using office-grade networking equipment to save small amounts of money upfront will turn out to be a huge mistake when you have to pay for it later with downtime and repairs.”

E-lins’s comments could serve as a handy maxim to guide your approach not just to COTS components, but to wireless implementation in general.

Enable-Network To A Bus

E-lins H685 and H820 router Application in Sydney’ bus.E-lins Perfect solution when we’re dealing with a constantly moving, rattling bus!

E-lins  Wireless has been dealing with that problem recently. It’s supplying the on-bus 3G Wi-Fi routers for Sydney’s Opal transport smartcard, which is supposed to catch NSW up to the rest of the nation by actually introducing a work on-train smartcard.

As part of a supply contract with Opal’s main developer Cubic Transportation Systems to fit out 5000 Sydney buses, E-lins had to customise one of its existing designs. Many of the features on the router would be recognisable in most networking contexts: it has eight on-board ports, and can switch between using Telstra’s 3G networks when on the road and Wi-Fi signal when in maintenance areas. But it also required some changes.

“We’ve specialised the device so that it copes with vehicles being turned on and off which can cause spikes and currents in the available power,” E-lins Wireless’s Evan zou told us. “It’s also vibration-proof.”

The bus rollout is currently half-completed (though only two routes in Sydney are active), and scheduled to finish by the end of 2014.

You could do three new things with your router

Category : 技术相关

You could do three new things with your router,That Daily use of the function you don’t know!

1.Set up a guest network

Many routers let you set up two wireless networks that can run simultaneously: one for you and the other for guests in your home. The benefit of this is that you can use a security password to protect the primary network and all household devices that connect to it, while still offering visitors Internet access via the second—a guest network that doesn’t require a password. (Some routers also let you set a password for the guest network if you want to restrict access to it.)

2.Make your wired printer wireless

If you have the right equipment, your router can help you avoid having to buy a wireless printer in order print from your laptop.  You need a router with a USB port, print server capability, and a printer with a USB port. First connect the printer directly to the router’s USB port. Then change some of the computer’s settings so that it can find the printer.

3.Create your own personal cloud

Many routers let you connect an external USB hard drive to them and use it as a personal cloud. Once the drive is installed, you can usually access any data you store on it from virtually any Internet connection using a smart phone, tablet, or laptop.
